So busy that I haven’t had any time to update this website. Remember when I said I was going to start with the intention of living a healthy work/life balance? Well life problems kept knocking on my door and I had to handle those issues with doing a bunch of overtime at work. Oh well, them’s the breaks, time to bring you up to speed.
At the end of March & the beginning of April took a couple trips to Arizona to see RJ throw shotput and discus. The first trip we were rollin’ deep with hella family members, and the second trip we took my Auntie Nellie. Both were fun quick turnaround trips, but is was all just too short.
April 2nd, I bought my first car. It’s a used 2005 white Dodge Magnum… Then on April 29th my engine blew up and because of that unfortunate event I had to take out another loan (which put me new car territory debt), and work every Saturday in May… I didn’t get my car back till around May 16th, and it’s been running smooth since. On another note, I kind of named my car FN-2187 or Finn and been thinking about getting my license plate that says TikFury, it’s a serious idea too.
Also in the middle of April, I took a trip down to the Bay Area with my parents for my Auntie To’oa 1 year funeral anniversary. Usually when I go to the Bay Area I usually hang out with my cousins house out in Richmond, but this time I figured I better stick close to my parents and start going to the events I came down for. Overall it was a good memorial and seeing all the family I haven’t seen in a while was very welcoming.
Now that financially I’m in a good position, I can take some small breaks here and there. I mean making money is great BUT 50 hour work weeks to me aren’t. It’s a burnout to me but I had to do what I had to do to stay afloat on these bills. It also hella helps that I live with my parents. One day I’ll get my ass up out of here again.
Well, that pretty much wraps up what the hell I’ve been doing lately and for future plans I’m trying to take a vacation out of this country sometime this year, maybe even cross an item off my bucket list. Only time can tell.
Ugh. I really need to stop procrastinating on making blog posts. Lots of stuff has happened since my last update, and now I wish I posted each time those events were happening while it was all fresh in my head. Oh well, the only pictures and videos I have are of my San Francisco trip, that’s good enough I guess. Anyways, here’s what happened to me so far.
In August, I was in Jerry’s wedding. Everything went perfect… Well, everything except for ONE thing. I’m being really “biased” on this because it had to do with me. You see I was given the task of the “Best Man Speech” without being the Best Man. About 2 weeks before the wedding I would jot down different ideas and whatnot. Fast forward to the actual wedding, I had a bunch of scribbled up notes, and in the heat of the moment I said “Fuck it” and winged the whole thing. If you asked me how it went, the replay in my head has me standing for 10 minutes saying “Uhhhh”. I’m probably hella judging it really harshly, I bet it’s really not ALL that bad… You know what? Scratch that, my speech hella sucked. If you’re ever in that position please prepare WAY ahead of time. Well at least I can say the speech I gave qualified as an item on my Bucket List. I’ll go ahead and cross off “Address a speech to at least a hundred people”. It didn’t have to be a good speech, just A speech haha. (There is a video of my speech, and NO, I’m not going to post it.)
In late October my employment status changed from Temp to being hired on full-time. One thing that I really love about the place is the co-workers. I’m surrounded by a bunch of like-minded nerds and it really makes working enjoyable.
In November, I went to the Bay Area. I was supposed to attend a surprise Birthday party for an elderly Aunt but there was a change of plans, and I didn’t get to go but something else did happen. I got to hit up one of my favorite buffets called Hot Pot City, then walked around the 49ers museum at Levi’s Stadium. Then the next day a bunch of family members came over and we had ourselves an early Thanksgiving. On my last day, got a sandwich from Little Luccas, and then hit up Baker beach then made it back to the my cousin’s house in time to watch the Warriors play/WWE Survivor Series. It was a small yet very awesome trip.
That’s not even all the photos I took. All the pictures from my trip are in the gallery and can be viewed here. Before I go I’d like to say Happy New Year to everyone, and that one of my New Year Resolutions is to travel A LOT. Next post I’ll make a list of places I would like to go, and hell, maybe I’ll even go get my damn passport renewed. Anyways guys, be safe, and don’t treat people like shit. Make this New Year a good one, no matter what. Later.
I’ve only been at this warehouse job for about 3 months and honestly it feels like I’ve been there for 3 years.
The job is very fast paced, and quite repetitive.
My job starts when the workers pull a tech order for me. I unbox the equipment, configure it, repackage it, and then ship it out. Rinse and repeat.
I finally just got my contractor shirt too AND they special ordered the size for me. I got it 4X Tall. Now I don’t have to wear a shirt that’s hella extra wide on me with barely enough length to tuck in.
I like the job. It’s different but still computer related. Also climbing up the career ladder is tough because everyone at the place stays there for a long time and you can only move up when there is room. I think I’m going to be a contractor for a while.
At the end of the month Jerry is getting married, and I’m going to be in the wedding. I don’t know any of the plans like who is doing the bachelor party, and who is doing the speech (rumor has it, I’m supposed to). Yeah, I better go sit down and talk with that guy sometime this week. Also start budgeting some money aside cause cash will be spent in the upcoming weeks.
This was just a small quick update. I was trying to post earlier in the week but my website got infected with malware and I had to clean out the files myself. I have other stories to post too of stuff I’ve done like taking a trip to Phoenix to watch the Giants play the Diamondbacks… I’ll post again soon.
After clocking out of work, locking my office, and making my way to my truck to go home, I came across a party going on. Catered food, open bar, live music and plenty of fancy dressed people, I found out it was a party for a new car Bentley was releasing. I stopped in my tracks and took a detour to the bar where I ordered up some Raztinis, then ate hella hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and chatted it up with a few co-workers (who were still on the clock by helping out with the party). It was fun, and the new Continental GT looks beautiful.
We received a letter from our ISP and a company representing the movie industry stating that someone had downloaded the movie Megamind. So after getting the letter it took me 2 days to find out who did it. I reported my findings to the “higher-ups” and they said they’ll deal with it.
During the investigation when I found the suspected laptop I needed to see if the machine name, IP address, and MAC address matched to seal the deal. The laptop was just sitting alone in a cubicle so I tried to stealth mission it. At first everything went fine, the name matched, the IP address matched, and while finding the MAC address that’s when things took a turn. I don’t really know how to maneuver around Windows 7 and found myself opening a lot of windows that led me to nowhere. When I was finally found the MAC address I heard a voice behind me say “Can I help you?”.
I answered back “If these numbers and letters match then I have some bad news”. They did and I let him know what I was doing. He was shaken up a bit (In my mind I was thinking how are you going to get fired over Megamind?! At least get fired cause you were looking at porn!). I left the room and informed my boss the identity of the illegal downloader.
The guy received a warning and I told him he’s not allowed to bring in a laptop and that nobody else can either from now on.
This is just one picture and it’s a bit blurry but this is what my office looks like. There really isn’t a window to look outside BUT I can’t complain because not very many people can say they have their OWN OFFICE!!! Awesome.
Let me go ahead and break down what you’re seeing. On the desk is a desktop pc that’s being fixed, infront of the desk you’ll see a cluster f*ck of computers, they are broken but are used for parts. On the right of the pile are some printers I’m examining, and on top of the pile are one of those motivational posters it says.. “Success” – Success is a journey, not a destination. I want to change it out for something more awesome. Maybe for Courage Wolf? lol…
Well that’s about it. After I’m done cleaning and decorating my room I’ll take another picture maybe even take pictureS. Ha.. This is the Samoan-Ninja signing off… LAtEZ.
It’s the same computer things I’ve been doing ever since I was a little kid except now I get PAID!
My job is so damn fun that sometimes I don’t want to clock out and go home, I’d rather just keep working.
Now that I have a job my workout sessions have come to a complete stop. Team HIIT is still up in the air. It kind of reminds of bands with their “together” status.
On Monday I’m going to be continuing HIIT with the Team or not. I’m also modifying the HIIT program with light weights to exhaust the muscles and liver of glycogen, and then take a walk/jog while my body is in a fat burning mode. Ya dig? Also I’m going to be eating a light breakfast, a light lunch, and then a liquid dinner (most likely a slimfast or similar shake).
